The Nepalese policy approaches to address plastic pollution are quite narrow, and focus on the manufacturing and waste stages of the plastics life cycle, as well as on trade. National approaches are solely command-and-control measures, while information or market-based policy measures are not being used. To tackle plastic pollution more sustainably, Nepal could consider several strategic adjustments and enhancements to current policies and practices. The latter are discussed in this Country Profile.
